In society today,
where everything is getting so fast paced...
its important tt we do everything fast,
am i right?
we walk fast...
we do our work fast...
we have our recess fast...
we rest fast...
we eat fast etc...

to cater to such a fast pace...
some smart alec come out with the "fast food"
idea...
well...
it does seem very fast for a fast food restaurant to pop out from nowhere...
(though fast food restaurants are not so fast nowadays, maybe its becos we're too fast haha)
well...
the bad side for fast food will be...
its a health hazard...
lots of trans fat...
bla bla bla...

well... why do i bring this up...
its becos...
our my "Beloved" Millennia Institute...
who banned the catering of outside food like macdonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut etc...
reasoning being tt we should buy food from the canteen instead...
(imagine GT food caterer blamed poor sales in canteen becos students have been catering outside food when they just stubbornly refuse to re-check the quality of their food items sold...)

well... fine...
tt should be the case anywhere...

but today...
the PE department yet dropped another bomb shell on our students...
during moring...
students like to "Da Bao" muffins and burgers to school for breakfast...

but now...

ITS BEING BANNED!!!!!!!!!!

reason being tt all these fast food are health hazards which the school discourage students to consume... as what they claimed la...

however...

firstly...
i will say tt the real hazard lies in the school canteen...
the food sold there is no only atrocious, it upsets my stomach (not to mention my poor nice wallet)
the reason why students switch to get outside food is becos of all these...
canteen is forever packed,
food taste like shit,
upsets wallets...

we, students said “ 有钱没的花”
a million thanks to the cashless system tt our school's intelligent being has thought...

its natural tt ur monopolised canteen empire is set to DOOM!
instead of further upgrading the taste of ur food,
increase the number of recess periods students have (so as not to choke up the canteen)
lower the price of the food (since they are price elastic, a decrease in price will increase the quantity demanded of the food... ya econs)

but they chose to impose embargo on outside food...
violators will have their outside purchased food confiscated...
(i'm beginning to think tt the school is encouraging us to waste food)

if the school wanted us to eat healthily,

they should give each and every 1200 plus Millennians a glass of red wine every day
(since research has shown tt a glass of red wine a day, keeps the coffin away)
OR...
they can have an exercise of eating a pair of vitamin C tablets together as a school (at the same time) everyday (who knows maybe Millennia Institute can set the NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD of the most number of people swallowing vitamins at the same time...)
OR...
they can hired a food nutritionist into the school management, and set up a desk for her/him beside the school counselor (so as to counsel those with "eating disorder" )
OR...
All the Millennians can just eat grass...
(there's a forest behind, with Bukit Batok Nature Reserve nearby, why not?!?!?!)

the bottom line here is...

WAT'S WRONG WITH EATING FAST FOOD???

Singapore government did not ban smoking even though they know its bad for health and the environment...
and doesn't the school knows that the students know tt eating fast food is bad for health?
(now who's the dumb one here~)

there are a few counter measures tt is being taught/thought of...

firstly...
organise a few classes together (the whole level will be best) and we order fast food together in bulk... (we'll see how the school confiscates them)

Secondly...
we bring in fried Char Kway Teow, roti prata, you tiao, Old Chang Kee curry puffs,
Katong Laksa with extra chili oil, E-club setting up a satay booth to sell satays, etc...

Thirdly...
we buy macdonald's (or any tom dick or harry's fast food) and consume them just right outside the school (if possible, in front of the security cameras)

CHALLENGE THOSE REDUNTANT SCHOOL RULES!!!!!!!

today is supposed to be my vocational assessment...

well...
as expected, today's vocational assessment turn out to be
" The Commando Audition "
i was being told tt we are the "lucky" 500 pple out of the whole cohort from CMPB...

anyway...
the camp...
Hendon camp...
School of the Commandos,
is situated near...
Changi Prison,
Selarang camp,
Changi Airport,
not to mention...
Changi Airbase (Airport n Airbase are side by side hehe)

when we first go in...
the entrance of the camp writes...
"Honour & Glory"
i can smell tt these lads are very proud to be the red berets...
haha...
(can't take photos as its security sensitive area)
we went past the cook house...
i saw a couple of NSFs...
they looked battled...
wonder if they just wake up...
or Commando training took the tiger out of them...

first test of the day...
Psychological n Stress level test...
instead of the computers tt we are supposed to type back in CMPB (Central ManPower Base)
we were told to shade in OMR...
i have to admit...
these test really bring me to sleep...
i have to shade not 50, not 100
but more than 200 questions (in total)
as my group of pple are all the "senior citizens" (1985-1987)
we just wanna get it over n done with...
the group IC (one cpl la)
saw tt i'm one of the last few to finish...
he said to me...
"hey relax la... why u look so dl?"
(its not dl actually... its just too tiring)

the medical test...
(surprisingly, the medical center look quite empty, nobody's taking MC)
i told them i have minor back injuries due to the improper position used when carrying weights...
(call tt "cao genk" if u want... but... my back wasn't tt fantastic)

becos this senior citizen group has only 7 pple...
we cleared almost every station quite fast...

interview part...
i told tt interviewer tt i'm not interested in joining commando...
(i rank it No.4 in order of preference, after Artillery, Guards and Armor)

we are supposed to have half an hour lunch before we begin our physical fitness test...
but we,
the senior citizens wanna get it over n done with asap...
so we proceed with the physical fitness test...
as the majority of the senior citizens are from poly...
they took their NAFA test like...
their results were...
wow...
unfit...
i tried to "cao genk" again at this part...
but with a result of 25 push ups,
30 sit ups,
around 215-220 for standing broad jump,
and 4 pull ups...
i'm considered one of the best in this group...
not trying to be cocky or watever here la...
but...
they (including me here) are just soooooooooooooo...
unfit...
the corporal just cannot believe his eyes when he saw our results...

finally...
everything's over...
went home n have a good sleep...

gonna pray hard tt i dun receive letter of enlistment in november/december
becos...
if its in this 2 months...
most likely its gonna be from them :S
the probability of me now going to Commando is still 50-50
(ok maybe after all tt slack attitude during the test, chances of going into the vocation has been lowered to 40-60)
as... the commandos usually chose around 240-250 out of these 500 pple...
Commando course is a 11 month course...
(the red beret is only issued after the 72 km route march {or watever it is} at the 11th month)

i dun mind going to commando actually...
but i was told by friend (who used to be one) tt there is very little freedom
so little (as compared to other vocations)

so...
i have made my stand...
i will choose my freedom over glory...

Commando course is a 11 month course...
(the red beret is only issued after the 72 km route match {or watever it is} at the 11th month)

so wat if u're a commando?
u are still human...
u will still die...
u will still look at girls wad...

big deal...

hahaha :p

hmmmz...

actually today i just feel like blogging today...
so here i am...
:D

hmmmz...
i intended to share one joke with u all...
but i just cannot find where i left it...
but then...
i found this story tt i find it quite meaningful...
so i decided to share this instead...
:)
here goes...

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill.
In the room of 200, he asked,

"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of youbut first, let me do this.He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"

And he dropped it on the groundand started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?"Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson..."

"No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted itbecause it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20."

"Many times in our lives,we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirtby the decisions we make andthe circumstances that come our way."

"We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened orwhat will happen, you will never lose your value."

"Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you..."

"The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE."

"You are special- Don't EVER forget it."

" remember: amateurs built the ark ..professionals built the Titanic."

well... what do u all think about tt?
wanna know my very very first thought after reading this story?
well...
the first thing tt came to my mind was...
"so... is our lives worth/comparable to tt $20 or what?!?!?!"
my reflections for the last part...

"Professionals have failed... Cos the Titanic has SUNK!!!"
tt fella who wrote the story used the wrong quote...

:D

anyway...
just enjoy the story...
:)

Wah Seh today hor...
dunno wat to say lor...

today school celebrates the country's 42nd independence day...
(its the national day la)
well...
i dunno why i have this patriotism thing only for today n tml only...
izzit becos its national day...
n i'm only being patriotic when the day comes?
so weird...

anyway...
the first half of the programme (the parade thingy)
WAS BORING!!!!!

the video on "the invisible city" was...
quite interesting...
i mean...
we dun get to see this kind of programs often wad...
no editing some more...
besides its about ex chinese students from Hwa Chong n Chung Chueng High n incidents regarding the spreading of communist ideology through them...
but being able to hear the other side of the story is really interesting...
becos... we will get to see the other point of view, rather than just those plain old history textbook answer...

i think i have an addiction for Singapore history since young
i think its becos i have not experience what the past has happened...
(e.g: not being able to reach home on time before the state curfew begins, seeking refugee on other places becos of war, etc etc...)

well... anyway...
the next part of the programme is even more boring...
until they show us this video clip, a million thanks to Mr Brown!
the whole school was laughing their ass out...

haha...

take a look...

3 cheers for Hossan Leong! (no credit to the way he walk, TTS SO GAY LA!!!)
3 cheers for Mr Brown production for their daring shoot...

:)

tml will be the country's 42nd national day
i hereby wish tt Singapore will further developed into a SUPERPOWER...
SO SUPER tt...
we dun need foreign talents anymore...
:D
of course not to forget the unfortunates, those tt require special needs etc etc...

got to go...

ASD Connexion is this Saturday!!!
Weeeeeh!!!!! Sentosa, here i come hahaha!

i was reading a book about Gandhi's noble struggles when i came across some quotes tt i find very interesting...
as we all knew, india was in turmoil at some point of time (which i dunno when is it)
there has been very bloodied conflict between the Hindus and the Muslims, which almost split the whole India into 2...

he always believed in resolving conflicts using the non violent approach...
whatever he do, (hunger strikes, peaceful demonstration etc) he will NOT use violence...
he had engaged dialogs with Hindus n Muslims, asking both sides not to stop fighting each other, since both sides are in the same country, same race, n even same colour of blood under their skins...
but...
they misunderstood it as a sign of taking sides... with both sides accused Gandhi of taking sides of rival sides...
(here's the interesting quote from him)
Gandhi retorted back to them, saying tt "he's willing to be cut into 2 if that was what the people wanted, but not for India to be cut into 2."
"Suppose someone sets fire to your home, and you retaliate by setting fire to theirs, soon, the whole town will be in flames!"
(this quote is just like the meaning of -> an eye for an eye makes the world goes blind)
Gandhi was eventually assassinated eventually :(
he was alone, there's no one who agrees with what he do...
but... " his principles and example of resolving matters through non violent approach has inspire countless activists including Martin Luther King Jr & Nelson Mandela"

we have been encouraged to engage dialogs when disagreement arises...
so as to prevent from methods of “以爆治爆”
or... wat Gandhi says, "fire cannot extinguish fire"
(pls note tt the method of “以毒攻毒” only existed in 武侠小说, N.A in reality)

its being told tt the best way is to engage in dialogs, one of the ways to start engaging in a dialog will be to...

SMILE :)

ya...
its tt simple...

the only problems lies with them refusing to open their mouths...
this i will agree with it...
even friends sometimes do so...
i mean...
sometimes when u wonder why ur friend look so down...
(btw, we do show our concern for our friends right?)
well... ur friend jus refuse to open up right...
which will make u wonder... " wat izzit tt he/she is so down?"
by now...
u should be able to feel tt u are playing the game...
"我猜我猜我猜猜猜"
Am i right?

anyway...
i dun understand why politicians (especially US govt) do not engage in dialogs...
they merely send in their soldiers to solve problems...
(they rather risk their lives than using their mouth... )
perhaps they can talk their way out from Iraq war...
but they chose not to...
in the end...
thousands of men died for nothing...

lets take an example of resolving conflict through the beautiful way...

a few British soldiers are being arrested for "trespassing" the Iran waters without permission.
fellow ally the US immediately offer UK the choice of providing air strikes to key Iran targets in retaliation and demanding the release of the British soldiers.
The UK however, preferred to solve it through diplomatic relations...
n...
the results...
Iran release the soldiers1
without injuring anyone...

SEE!?!?!

the power of speech...
the power of dialogs...
the beauty of... talking...
:)

until then...
:)

Manchester United (my favourite foot club)
have discovered a soccer talent!
he's just 10 this year...
he's Rhain Davis.

with the age of 10,
his skills are far superb at his age...
he's able to dance with ball like Zidane,
he's able to cross the ball like Beckham,
he's able to score the goal like Rooney,
he's just that damn good for his age...
hope his loyalty remains at the club...
and retires, just like Scholes, still in Man U...
hope he can bring the World Cup back to England...
after sooooo many donkey years...

hmmm...
new season of EPL is going to start...
Hope Manchester United can win the FA cup, Premier League Cup, n Champions League Cup...
(psst... Chelsea can kiss their ass goodbye hahaha)
actually... i'm not really tt anti Chelsea...
its becos...
Someone supports the club, dun support Man U ma...
hahaha...
here... view the clip...
