today is supposed to be my vocational assessment...

well...
as expected, today's vocational assessment turn out to be
" The Commando Audition "
i was being told tt we are the "lucky" 500 pple out of the whole cohort from CMPB...

anyway...
the camp...
Hendon camp...
School of the Commandos,
is situated near...
Changi Prison,
Selarang camp,
Changi Airport,
not to mention...
Changi Airbase (Airport n Airbase are side by side hehe)

when we first go in...
the entrance of the camp writes...
"Honour & Glory"
i can smell tt these lads are very proud to be the red berets...
haha...
(can't take photos as its security sensitive area)
we went past the cook house...
i saw a couple of NSFs...
they looked battled...
wonder if they just wake up...
or Commando training took the tiger out of them...

first test of the day...
Psychological n Stress level test...
instead of the computers tt we are supposed to type back in CMPB (Central ManPower Base)
we were told to shade in OMR...
i have to admit...
these test really bring me to sleep...
i have to shade not 50, not 100
but more than 200 questions (in total)
as my group of pple are all the "senior citizens" (1985-1987)
we just wanna get it over n done with...
the group IC (one cpl la)
saw tt i'm one of the last few to finish...
he said to me...
"hey relax la... why u look so dl?"
(its not dl actually... its just too tiring)

the medical test...
(surprisingly, the medical center look quite empty, nobody's taking MC)
i told them i have minor back injuries due to the improper position used when carrying weights...
(call tt "cao genk" if u want... but... my back wasn't tt fantastic)

becos this senior citizen group has only 7 pple...
we cleared almost every station quite fast...

interview part...
i told tt interviewer tt i'm not interested in joining commando...
(i rank it No.4 in order of preference, after Artillery, Guards and Armor)

we are supposed to have half an hour lunch before we begin our physical fitness test...
but we,
the senior citizens wanna get it over n done with asap...
so we proceed with the physical fitness test...
as the majority of the senior citizens are from poly...
they took their NAFA test like...
their results were...
wow...
unfit...
i tried to "cao genk" again at this part...
but with a result of 25 push ups,
30 sit ups,
around 215-220 for standing broad jump,
and 4 pull ups...
i'm considered one of the best in this group...
not trying to be cocky or watever here la...
but...
they (including me here) are just soooooooooooooo...
unfit...
the corporal just cannot believe his eyes when he saw our results...

finally...
everything's over...
went home n have a good sleep...

gonna pray hard tt i dun receive letter of enlistment in november/december
becos...
if its in this 2 months...
most likely its gonna be from them :S
the probability of me now going to Commando is still 50-50
(ok maybe after all tt slack attitude during the test, chances of going into the vocation has been lowered to 40-60)
as... the commandos usually chose around 240-250 out of these 500 pple...
Commando course is a 11 month course...
(the red beret is only issued after the 72 km route march {or watever it is} at the 11th month)

i dun mind going to commando actually...
but i was told by friend (who used to be one) tt there is very little freedom
so little (as compared to other vocations)

so...
i have made my stand...
i will choose my freedom over glory...

Commando course is a 11 month course...
(the red beret is only issued after the 72 km route match {or watever it is} at the 11th month)

so wat if u're a commando?
u are still human...
u will still die...
u will still look at girls wad...

big deal...

hahaha :p

gtg...

tk's quote of the day : "For Honour & Glory "
