Tuesday, September 25, 2007dunno wat happen to me today...i suddenly feel like reciting chinese poetry... (i'm not into literature kinda person, in fact, i hate literature {apology to all literature fanatics here}) maybe becos today is a special day... today is the August the 15th on the lunar calender... which means today is 中秋节... history states tt today is the day Ming dynasty founding emperor 朱元璋[why his ancestor created such surname tt sounded like pig (猪）? ] revolt against the Mongolians tt has been ruling China for.... years? he unites all Hans in China through the passing of notes in moon-cakes tt states the time where the rebellion starts... people in the 21st century hardly had anything inside moon-cakes... other than lotus seed (or watever seed inside) or egg yolk... [no paper note :( ] well... anyway... the few poems i kinda like reciting will be 苏轼's 水调歌头, 岳飞's 满江红... here goes... 苏轼's 水调歌头: 明月几时有？把酒问青天。 i think i like this poem is not becos of its meaning... but faye wong's song... :D up next will be... 岳飞's 满江红: for this poem... dunno about u all la... but i can sense the anger and desperation of 岳飞... for not being able to drive the enemy out of the homeland... i must have bored u guys... well... go ahead... u can go to sleep... the next piece will be a phrase from 文天祥 (i think) its... 人生自古谁无死，this phrase means people have to die some day, its just the matter why they die... die a wrongful death? die in shame? die being a hero? or something like tt la... (i still remember this is my secondary chinese lesson) well... the teacher as us to write out the whole thing as dictation... which i didn't bother to learn... so dunno how to write... but very creative friend of mine wrote something which made the teacher 哭笑不得 he wrote : 人生自古谁无死, the teacher is happy tt the way he create a poem with 7 words per phrase, which each ending word to sound a similar pitch (i was told tt these factors are essential for creating a 唐诗) wat the teacher is angry/sad will be... my friend has insulted 文天祥's noble phrase... well... not all... at tt time... there is yet another version of this kind of poem/phrase which is somewhat similar with my friend's (the 大便纸 part la) here goes... 人生自古谁无死,(pls note tt i'm NOT tt capable of creating such "wonderful" poems) anyway... i was told tt 唐诗 and 宋词 are different in a way tt... 宋词 does not have a standard system... the phrase just goes all over the place... it does not have the rhythm like wat 唐诗 have... here's one 唐诗 for example... its 孟浩然's 春晓... 春眠 不觉晓，its a 5 words and only 4 lines... as compared to the 宋词... which is like all over the place... hahaha... (those ang moh pies must be really dozing off ) woa hahaha... well.. hope tt everyone enjoys eating their moon-cakes tonight... see how round the moon will be tonight... gtg... i have spent too much time here... :D Labels: September 2007 series
