Saturday, September 8, 2007hmmz...was really encouraged by a piece of paper tt de qiang n the ASD had given... i can just imagine the wonderful things they share during last night's ASD meeting... i cannot go as... i have to attend an "important" leaders meeting... (which some how i dun find it important at all) the whole leaders meeting is all about... activities updates... figures (as in numbers)... numbers... numbers... % increases... how much more should we do/go to achieve the target... what did they do to achieve such wonderful results... etc etc etc... (zZz...) yes i noe... propagation is important for the sake of their happiness... but... its just sooooooooo dry lor... there is a couple of wonderful encouragement given by the 2 presidents... but i was so sian tt i missed tt... :S anyway... de qiang gave me the piece paper... its an encouragement tt Sensei gave to one of the members which i find it very meaningful... there is this indian member java who happens to be very very poor... he met Sensei one day, n complained to him how poor he is, how he wished to be rich... Sensei replied, " U want alot of money? What will you do with all these money?" immediately... this member starts to think of what he will do with all the money... however... he sensed tt Sensei's question wasn't tt shallow... so he didn't answer him... Sensei continued, " if u ask me for a knife, i might give it to you. But what will you do with it?" "will u use it to hurt someone? or hurt yourself?" "or will u use it to carve an ordinary piece of wood into a piece of artwork (in this case an image of a Buddha) ? " "(From a Buddhist perspective) Everything in life has 2 purposes : its basic purpose and the true purpose." the basic purpose of having money is to exchange for things. the true purpose of having money, to exchange for things..... to help that somebody who needs those things, in order to save a life... (this part is my own analogy, different from Sensei's...) Money seems to be everything... but if it is not used for its true purpose... its nothing... dun u think so? well... gtg... come take my quiz here good luck :) Labels: September 2007 series
